I just wanted to let ya'll know why I've not been around much. My daughter spilled coffee in my laptop and I suspect my motherboard is fried. I can't even boot up my system. The good news is that my hard drive is completely intact so I've not lost any precious pictures or other data.
I will be back no later than Christmas.

That really stinks Samslady! At least you didn't lose your pics, that would be tragic. Hope you're able to find a good deal and get back online soon.

A good deal indeed!
We got the computer on sale....normally $1499 but priced at $1099. It was the last one at that price, and it was in an open box, but we went ahead and took it anyway.
When I got home and opened the box....well...it wasn't the same computer. It was the same base model, but with all the extras this one has, it should have cost me over $1800. So yea...I got a GREAT deal!
Merry Christmas to me!

Well Alright!! Merry Christmas to you indeed. Glad to see for once the customer on the winning end of the open container syndrome. Just in time for the start of The Advent Calendar and The Holidays Super Contest here on the boards.

It's got 2 120G hard drives, 2G RAM (was only supposed to come with 1G if I remember correctly), and the other bonuses that I wasn't expecting include a lightScribe enabled CD/DVD-RW, Remote Control for the Windows Media Center, 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS (it was supposed to be the 128MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS), integrated webcam and mic, HP ExpressCard Digital/Analog TV Tuner w/remote control, and the High Capacity 8 Cell Lithium Ion Battery instead of the basic battery. There's also software installed that it wasn't supposed to come with, but I'm not going to complain.
